MASTER ENGL1083G College Writing [3]. This course focuses on the process and practice of composition and includes attention to formatting, modes of writing, grammar and mechanics, clarity and style, and persuasion, with emphasis given to the research essay, research techniques, argumentation, and APA documentation style. Students are also asked to consider the relationships between critical thinking, active reading, and effective writing skills, as well as important ethical considerations that must be made if integrity is to be maintained across all written discourse (specifically addresses the topic of plagiarism as well as proper use of Turnitin software as a part of the overall writing process). Finally, students will explore how their refined thinking, reading, and writing skills might contribute to their active participation in a variety of professional settings.
