The course examines the use of nutrients to support health, the nutritional needs throughout the life cycle, and diet analysis in health care and life settings. Emphasis is placed on making healthy life style choices based on the science of nutrition. Basic concepts of health promotion/health maintenance are explored using select theories of health promotion and health behavior change.
