This course presents an introduction to characteristics of students from exceptional populations, including students with disabilities and other special needs. Topics included: collaboration, inclusion, student diversity, individual education programs, assessment and referral, and differentiated curriculum and instruction. Practical teaching and learning strategies relevant to the tasks of general education and intervention teachers in inclusive classrooms are explored.
