“This course will survey early church history, which we understand to be the period just after the New Testament story up through the medieval period. Early church history will set the agenda and priorities that become developed in medieval church history. This course will set the stage for the study of the Protestant Reformation and the evolution of Christianity in the modern period (Heritage II). Emphasis will be placed on understanding the processes and values that have brought us to our present situation. For Christian Education and Religion majors, "HIS1003G (The Western Tradition in World Context I) or HIS1013G (The Western Tradition in World Context II) is a prerequisite” (MVNU Catalog).
